PRECIOUS is not at all a feel-good movie. In fact, you’ll be – literally – sick to your stomach even when you start seeing it. Following the horrifying life of a 16-year-old, obesity and illiterate black girl named Precious, who already has a son and is pregnant with another one, both from the harassment of her mother’s boyfriend who used to life with them. And since he’s not around anymore, her psycho unemployed mother does nothing at home but abusing her physically and mentally, treating her like trash instead of loving her like a daughter. It’s a crazy world out there where extreme POVERTY and LACK OF EDUCATION take place. Love comes easy when you’re in state of sufficiency, so it’s almost impossible when you’re in her shoe. Almost.
